The Sound of Summer- Music Festivals in DaytonSummer is upon us here in the Miami Valley, and for many of us that comes hand-in-hand with the sounds of a sizzling grill, kids playing in the sprinklers, and birds chirping in the trees. In Dayton, though, there are even more sounds of summer to enjoy: the Downtown Summer Music Series, which is coordinated by the Department of Recreation and Youth Services, will be bringing free music to downtown Dayton.

The Downtown Summer Music Series this year features four different concerts—one each in the months of June, July, August, and September. Food and merchandise vendors will set up at Dave Hall Plaza Park, making each festival a great day-long event for both families and individuals to enjoy.

The complexity of planning and the issues involving guardianship, conservatorship, and caring for a spouse are further complicated with a second marriage.

Before discussing the implications of a second marriage on an estate plan, it’s important that folks understand that any change in marital status affects any previously established estate plan. Under Ohio law, a surviving spouse inherits everything in situations where the decedent spouse did not leave a will (known as intestate) and there are no children. Robin WilliamsRobin Williams’s recent death shocked and saddened the nation. The beloved actor and comedian, whose movies included Dead Poet’s Society, Jumanji, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Good Will Hunting, was 63.

He is survived by his wife and three children, who have told the media that they are heartbroken by their loss.

Fortunately, recent news reports that Williams likely left his family with little in the way of estate planning troubles.
