Upcoming Festivals and Fun
Runway Fest & Fireworks
When: August 7
Where: Dayton-Wright Brothers Airport, Miamisburg, Ohio
The annual Runway Fest will feature live music, aircraft static displays, airplane rides, a hot air balloon launch, inflatables, clowns, and food and drinks. The fireworks show will begin at 9:30pm. Admission is free for the whole family.
Englewood Festival
When: August 8–9
Where: Centennial Park, Englewood, Ohio
The festivities begin on Saturday with a 5k race at 8:00 a.m., quickly followed by the Festival Parade that runs down Union Boulevard from Wenger Road to Centennial Park. Artisan and food vendor booths will be open both days of the festival. Sunday events include a Volksmarch, Cruise-In with E/Rider car, truck and bike show, and musical acts.
Festival of the Vine
When: August 8
Where: Fraze Pavilion, Dayton, Ohio
This free event begins at 3:00 in the Lincoln Park Civic Commons. Sample wines from all over the world. David Wells will perform at 5:00 p.m. A ticketed concert with Dave Koz & Friends on the Fraze Stage begins at 7:00 p.m.
Art on the Commons
When: August 9
Where: Fraze Pavillion, Dayton, Ohio
One of the most popular Dayton-area art festivals returns for its 27th year. Presented by the Rosewood Arts Centre, Art on the Commons will take place at Fraze Pavillion. The art show features fine arts and crafts by 100 talented artists from around the country. A juried selection of jewelry, ceramics, painting, photography, metals, watercolor, sculpture, glass, fibers, and wood creations will be on display and for sale. Entertainment is also scheduled throughout the day and concessions will be available.
Springfield Rotary Gourmet Food Truck Competition
When: August 15
Where: Veterans Park Amphitheater, Springfield, Ohio
Thousands of foodies and forty food trucks will gather for the Springfield Rotary Club’s Second Annual Gourmet Food Truck Competition. There will be every kind of food you can imagine, from Italian to Cuban and everything in between. Come hungry! There will also be a wide selection of drinks in the Beer Garden, including IPAs, domestics, wine, water, and soda. All proceeds will benefit the Rotary Club’s charitable causes: Services to People with Disabilities, Polio Plus, and the International Project in Lesotho, Africa.
