Thanksgiving, a time for family, friends, appreciation for what you have (and let’s admit, a little indulgence), is just around the corner.
One of the best Dayton Thanksgiving traditions is also coming up: the Annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot. The Turkey Trot celebrates its 35th year of fun, themed running this year.
The Turkey Trot is extremely popular, with more than ten thousand participants at its largest race. This family-friendly event welcomes runners of all ages and abilities. Participants can run the five-mile race or walk the one-mile fun walk/run. For those with a competitive streak, the five-mile race will be timed.
I encourage you to attend this exciting event! Whether you are looking to run competitively or burn a few calories before the big meal of the day, this race is one you won’t want to miss.
You can register in person at 480 Vantage Point in Miamisburg between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. or online here. For the five-mile run/walk, registration costs thirty dollars for those aged fifteen and over and twenty-five dollars for those under age fifteen. For the one-mile fun/walk, registration costs eighteen dollars for all ages.
Packet pickup will take place at 480 Vantage Point on November 27.
The Turkey Trot will kick off on Thanksgiving day, November 28, at 8:30 a.m.
The race is being held by the Ohio River Road Running Club, a volunteer organization supporting running in and around Dayton, and the City of Miamisburg.
