Now you can explore the American wilderness and some of the country’s most beautiful national parks without leaving Ohio. In fact, to be more specific, you can do this exploring without leaving Springfield, Ohio. How is that possible? Thanks to the Ansel Adams photography exhibit at the Springfield Museum of Art.
Ansel Adams possessed a unique ability to wield light in such a way that revealed delicate, often overlooked details as well as vast, sweeping beauty. He is widely recognized for his technical skill and is often credited for getting photography to be accepted as one of the “fine arts.”
The Ansel Adams exhibit at the Springfield Museum of Art, which is approximately half an hour northeast of Dayton, Ohio, includes 72 black and white images. This collection is all photographs that Adams personally printed for his daughter. The works span years of Adams’ life, from 1921 to 1968.
The Ansel Adams exhibit will be at the Springfield Museum of Art now through May 11. The cost of admission is $8 for non-member adults and $3 for children (17 and under) and museum members.
The Springfield Museum of Art is open:
- Sunday: 12:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Monday and Tuesday: Closed
- Wednesday through Saturday: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
