Ice Skating Lessons in Dayton

|

Dayton Ice Skating Lessons - Lovett & House Co., LPAIce skating is a fun, family-friendly activity that is the perfect accompaniment to our chilly Ohio winters. While staying indoors often seems preferable to most folks, sometimes it’s nice to bundle up and head outside. I’ve talked before about the great ice rink located at RiverScape MetroPark, where you can skate and get hot chocolate as well (link to previous blog post).

Some folks, however, have never learned how to ice skate. If you have never had the opportunity to learn or have been a bit afraid to lace up, you can attend the MetroPark rink’s Beginners Ice Skating for Adults this month.

The beginner’s lesson covers the very basics of ice skating—standing up and balancing on the ice—and moves on to teach how to stop, march, dip, glide, swizzle, and move backwards. At the lesson, you can learn a new skill or cheer on your kids or grandkids from the sidelines.

This event starts at 12:30p.m. on January 20th and is for those 14 years and older. The lesson costs $10 and includes skate rental. Registration is required. To register, call 274-0126, or visit the MetroParks website.
