The Tippecanoe Farmers Market, Tipp City’s destination for delicious, locally grown produce, plants, and other goods, has been given a new name and location this year.
The market, renamed the Tipp City Marketplace, is now located at the corner of South Third and Broadway streets in downtown Tipp City.
Along with the new name and location, the market is changing to expand its focus to include health and wellness. The market will continue to offer healthy, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and baked goods as well as natural products, plants, artwork, and crafts. Now, however, the market will also offer healthy cooking demonstrations, recipes, and information about healthy living.
According to Downtown Tipp City Partnership Director Tara Dixon Engel, “At the Marketplace, you will find fresh out of the garden, fresh off the vine, or fresh out of the oven…But that’s only part of this year’s wellness theme. We also have holistic health vendors who will offer an education about the benefits of massage, wellness, reiki, and of adopting a healthier lifestyle.”
The market is also accepting SNAP cards this year, thereby giving those with lower incomes greater access to healthy foods.
The Tipp City Marketplace is the perfect place to get healthy, mouth-watering ingredients and exciting new recipes for the week! We hope you’ll take advantage of this valuable community resource.
The Tipp City Marketplace will take place every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. through September 21. Breakfast will be served each week, and some type of entertainment or activity will be offered most weeks.
