Now, in addition to the firm’s Estate and Medicaid/Nursing Home Planning Issues and Solutions and Trust Review seminars, Lovett & House Co., LPA presents helpful seminars on Advance Directives.
During the Advance Directive seminars, George H. Lovett spoke about Living Wills, Health Care Powers of Attorney, and Do Not Resuscitate Orders. These legal documents are the most important parts of an estate plan, yet so few individuals have them. These documents give instructions to an individual’s family and to medical professionals on how to handle health care decisions when the individual can no longer make them. They determine, for example, who is responsible for making decisions on the individual’s behalf as well as when to terminate the use of a ventilator and food tube.
Lovett explained these essential documents in plain English. At the end of the presentation, guests had the opportunity to ask questions about Advance Directives and other estate planning topics, including saving assets from nursing home costs, whether to have a living trust or a will, and related topics.
Attendees also had the opportunity to receive a Living Will and Health Care Power of Attorney at no charge and to have a low-cost estate planning consultation with Lovett.
