Looking for the best events in the Dayton area for the Fourth of July?
You have a lot to choose from: the Dayton area offers a number of exciting, family friendly events—most of which will include dazzling fireworks displays to celebrate Independence Day. If you plan right, you should be able to attend more than one!
City of Dayton Lights in Flight Fireworks Festival 2014: Hosted at Riverscape, this event has been given the Dayton People’s Choice Award for Best Fireworks show in the Miami Valley. The event starts at 6 p.m. on July 3 and includes food and live entertainment. The fireworks display starts at 9 p.m.
49th Fourth of July Car Show: Classic cars, food, and entertainment combine to create a great Independence Day event. The Greene County Antique and Classic Car Club will host this car show at the Greene County Fairgrounds on July 4 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. The show will also include awards and prizes.
Centerville Americana Festival and Fireworks: This day-long festival features a 5K run, parade, street fair, and fireworks show. The 5K kicks off the celebration at 7:30 a.m. The street fair, which includes food and craft booths, live music, and kids’ activities, opens at 9:30 a.m. The parade starts soon after, at 10 a.m. The celebration culminates with the fireworks show, which starts at 10 p.m.
City of Piqua Fourth of July Celebration: The City of Piqua’s event will include rides, games, food, and entertainment. Of course, it wouldn’t be a Fourth of July celebration without fireworks: the show will begin around 9 p.m.
Independence Day Family Fun at Young’s Dairy: During the week of July 4, Young’s Dairy is offering a value wristband: $12 for adults and $6 for children 11 years old and younger. The wristband is good for the whole day at Young’s Dairy, where you and your family can enjoy miniature golf and other fun activities.
