At the age of 65, most Americans become eligible for Medicare, a national insurance program administered by the federal government.
As we age, increased health problems are nearly inevitable. Because of this, it is important that everyone have proper health insurance coverage. Medicare can typically cover around half of health care costs for those who enroll, depending on the person and the coverage chosen.
Open enrollment for Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans occurs in October. To help seniors choose the best Medicare plan for them (which can often be a very confusing undertaking, given the vast amount of rules and regulations), the Council on Aging will offer a presentation on Medicare.
This Medicare presentation will be held at the Beavercreek Senior Center on Thursday, October 18th at 2pm. Representatives from the Greene County Council on Aging will provide an overview of Medicare and how it works as well as answer any questions.
